Two Musicians reconfigures an apartment in a dense neighborhood where side setbacks restricted natural light to the main living areas. The kitchen was reoriented along a diagonal axis to connect it directly with the living room and the adjacent laundry room, which received the most daylight in the apartment. Opening these spaces allowed natural light to reach deeper into the home. A central island was added to serve as a workspace for cooking, baking, and family use, replacing the wall between the kitchen, lobby, and living area. Additionally, the passage between the living room and den was widened, allowing the den to function as a flexible music teaching room that can be opened or closed as needed.
