Located near the waterfront with views onto an interior courtyard, this project involved converting a compartmentalized one-bedroom apartment into an open loft layout. The original design featured a small living room window facing an interior setback, a typical architectural condition in Rio de Janeiro. By removing the walls between the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and laundry room, the renovation improved light distribution throughout the home, allowing more daylight to reach the interior spaces. The layout integrated the service zones into the main living areas, which are anchored by a central countertop that serves as a surface for arrival, cooking, and gathering.
